The Research Assistant will apply the scientific method to study synthetic organic chemistry. Under the direction of the Research Advisor, the Research Assistant will plan experiments, set-up experiments, collect data from experiments, and make conclusions from the data to plan future experiments. The Research Assistant will learn laboratory techniques such as reaction set-up, analytical and preparative chromatography, physical separation, and spectroscopy. The Research Assistant will keep a current, legible and detailed lab notebook. The Research Assistant will compile the results of experiments and produce reports of their research. This position provides valuable undergraduate research experience and the potential of scientific presentations and publications.

  • No prior research experience is required
